Byron Bay & Brunwick Heads: In Photographs

Richard and I were super lucky to head back to our favourite little beach town, Byron Bay. It’s the place I call Birkenstock Central. It’s hippie, surfer and has a great cup of coffee for the early risers or a cold beer for the sundowners. Last year, we spent two nights in this little surf haven as SO many recommended that it’s a good ‘travel location’. Without a shadow of a doubt, I agree. So much so, I could happily pack up my life in the UK and join a hippie commune there.

So, back for another week in this place with Richard’s Aussie Family - but not just any week - we stayed for Christmas! That’s one thing off the bucket list right there AND it’s somewhere we knew was awesome.

Our shabby-chic AirBnb Queenslander was based in nearby Brunswick Heads. It was pitched to us as ‘if Byron was transported back to the 70s’ and, let’s be honest, we were sold from literally just that. What’s awesome about Brunswick is that it’s a small town filled with gorgeous vintage shops, vinyl stalls, a retro cinema and one heck of a Bakery. Bruns Bakery was an integral part of our morning rituals. The bakery will be pondering over the sheer rise in sales form the amount that we bought over the time we stayed there.

If there wasn’t enough shops to explore, we ventured further in to the hinterland. Newrybar is a cute little town with a lot of boutique shops and delis. It’s the type of country town you dream of having your summer outdoor wedding.

Without further adieu, here’s a series of photos from our time in these great places.
